Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated, innovative and motivated Registered Nurse to join our expert nursing team within Parkinson Disease Specialist Service, to cover maternity leave.
We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual with Epilepsy experience. You will be fully supported to develop existing and new skills working within frameworks of competence.
Experience of management of people with Parkinson's would be preferred however a Band 5 to 6 progression post would be considered, with training and development offered to support the development in role.
You will be joining a multi- disciplinary Neurology Long Term Condition service that continues to grow and develop, working alongside Consultant Neurologists, other specialty nurses and dedicated Health Care Assistants.
There is full administrative support and the team works collaboratively with the wider Neurology Long Term Conditions MDT that consists of neuropsychologists and specialist physiotherapists and occupational therapists.
To work as an autonomous practitioner with the Neurology Long Term Conditions service being professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of your work.
To provide a Specialist Parkinson's Nurse Service within a community setting and to manage a complex caseload using evidence based and patient centred principles.
To work within the framework of a multi-disciplinary team to provide coordinated and effective specialist care and guidance to improve quality of life for people with Parkinson's Disease.
To provide specialised knowledge, skills and advice to clients, and be a source of expertise for therapy staff, other members of the MDT and other agencies.
To initiate your own continued professional development through researching best practice, networking with colleagues and seeking training opportunities and support/clinical supervision sessions.
The specialist Parkinson's Disease service is based at Breightmet Health Centre. Bolton NHS Foundation Trust is an integrated provider of acute, intermediate and community health care serving the population of Bolton.
