We are now looking for a passionate and experienced English practitioner to join our team as Curriculum Leads for English (with a focus on Functional Skills).

The Roles:

Are you an experienced English teacher ready to take the next step into management? This newly created role is a unique opportunity for you to shape and lead our English delivery while continuing to make a direct impact in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership (0.4):
- Curriculum Development: Support the design, implementation, and evaluation of English curriculum, particularly in Functionals Skills, that meets the diverse needs of our students.
- Team Leadership: Support and mentor a dedicated team of English teachers, fostering a collaborative and innovative teaching environment.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor and enhance the quality of English Functional Skills provision, ensuring compliance with educational standards and driving continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to promote and develop the English curriculum.

Teaching (0.6):
- Classroom Excellence: Deliver high-quality GCSE and Functional Skills English teaching to a diverse student body, using innovative and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Student Support: Provide tailored support to students, helping them to achieve their educational and personal goals.
- Assessment and Feedback: Conduct assessments, provide constructive feedback, and track student progress to ensure successful outcomes.
- Professional Development: Remain up to date with English teaching practices and contribute to the professional development of the English and Maths team.

Who We’re Looking For:
- Qualifications: A recognized teaching qualification and a degree in a relevant field.
- Experience: Significant experience in GCSE and Functional Skills English teaching, with a proven track record of delivering outstanding results.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a passion for curriculum development and quality assurance.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of inspiring and motivating both students and colleagues.
- Innovation: A forward-thinking approach to education, with the ability to drive new initiatives and embrace change.
