Summary

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting on behalf of a partnership school based in Newport. We are seeking an educator who is patient, understanding and proactive. The role will entail working as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Learning Support Assistant, to support children from reception to year 4 (Ages 4 to 7). You would be based within the school's SEN Unit, the pupils in this class have Autism and will require hands on support, personal care and behaviour management.

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 - 15:30

Pay: Minimum £83 per day

Start: September 2024

SEN Teaching Assistant responsibilities:
- Working in a small class with other TA's and class teacher to support pupils across various age groups and with different severities of diagnosis. Some pupils in this class are non-verbal.
- Promote independent working but also encouraging social interaction and engagement with peers.
- Create a positive and caring, safe environment for the pupil to thrive.
- Build trusting relationships with pupils and parents and provide social and emotional support.

Whilst having experience working with children who have SEN in a professional setting is desirable, we welcome applications from people who have personal experience or someone who is willing to fully engage and develop skills in the area.

This school is based in Newport and is easily accessible via public transport. They have around 600 pupils. They have two dedicated class bases to support pupils with Additional Learning Needs. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
