Summary
Join us as our Product Director, Mettle
- We’re looking for someone to be responsible for defining the strategy and commercial success of Mettle in line with our product strategy and vision for the business
- Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for the Mettle interface and the profit and loss of the Mettle product and features
- You’ll have the chance the explore your leadership potential as you focus on recruitment, budget, retention, salary reviews and the coaching of Product Managers and Product Owners
What you’ll do
As our Product Director, Mettle, you’ll define a strategy to realise our product vision for Mettle. To do this, you’ll grow the base of Mettle customers in line with risk appetite to deliver long-term business performance, focusing on customer acquisition, activation, retention and revenue.
Your daily responsibilities will also include you working with our Banking Platform team to deliver market-leading banking, payments, and credit products, while using our platform FinCrime and monitoring capabilities.
In addition, you’ll be responsible for:
- Driving customer research and discovery work by finding the best solutions to prioritised customer problems in order to define and launch market-leading solutions
- Providing the timely delivery of product solutions while reporting on progress and milestone completion
- Working with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams to create product features based on our customers’ needs, while remaining compliant with our organisation’s policies
- Managing colleagues, who’re Product Owners, on their workstreams
- Making sure our Mettle team complies with the Product Governance framework and the appropriate levels of buy-in from assigned NatWest stakeholders
The skills you’ll need
To join us in this role, you’ll need experience of product leadership in modern technology businesses and banking, including SMB and retail banking. We’ll expect you to have an understanding of mobile application development and API, as well as vendor management skills.
The ability to manage multiple product initiatives in parallel and to coach in current product thinking and best practices, and evidence of leading experienced product teams, are crucial for this role. You’ll also have performance management training skills.
Furthermore, you’ll need:
- High attention to detail, including an ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
- Excellent stakeholder relationship building and collaboration skills, alongside the ability to interact and coordinate operations, finance, legal and risk
- Good negotiation skills and experience of guiding marketing teams to promote the right products to the right customers
- Experience of leading successful products from conception to adoption
- An understanding of all stages of the product life cycle
