As our Head of 14+ Curriculum , you will utilise your knowledge and experience within planning and delivery of curriculum for 14+ (key stage 4) learners to provide management, leadership and guidance across the 14-16 curriculum and to provide learning experiences which ensures high achievement for all students, through exemplary practice in learning, teaching and assessment

Hull College provides high-quality education & training for school leavers & adults, offering a wide range of vocational study programmes, Apprenticeships & degrees, and in October 2023 were awarded a ‘Good’ rating by Ofsted. Responsibilities of our Head of 14+ Curriculum:


Provide day to day line management and support of all staff within the department.
Manage the delivery and future development of the curriculum offer, in conjunction with the Assistant Principal of 14-16, including the development of new provision in conjunction with core college curriculum departments and other key stakeholders.
Liaise with the central Planning and Timetabling Office to ensure the efficient timetabling of courses and the coordination of staffing, including cover for sickness and other absence.
Working closely with the link Outstanding Practitioners, lead on the annual self-assessment of the department and subsequent quality improvement plan to ensure quality improvement KPIs are met.
Accountable for ensuring that staff meet deadlines to record data and information in an accurate and timely manner, including registers, assessments, quality reviews and standardisations, results and student progress.
Ensure attendance process, withdrawals and transfers are managed both timely and accurately.
Contribute to achieving timely and overall achievement rates that are above the national GFE rate
Represent the College at internal and external meetings, working with a range of stakeholders including weekend and evening events.
Responsible for financial management, including the effective management of budgets for the department as agreed with the Assistant Principal of 14-16, Vice Principal and Finance Director.



What we’re looking for in our Head of 14+ Curriculum :


Qualified to degree level or equivalent professional qualification or willing to work towards
Evidence of commitment to personal development and continuing improvement
Experience in planning and delivery of Curriculum across a range of programmes.
Knowledge of major curriculum changes and government policy in relation to relevant funding
Ability to work flexibly, including evening and weekend work
Ability to manage a range of tasks with priority
