We are looking for a dynamic, customer-focused individual to join our vibrant Homeless Prevention Team at the Council. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are dedicated to building trust and resilience, this role is for you!

Location: Halifax Town Centre Office (with opportunities for remote work)

About the Role:
As a Homeless Prevention Officer, you will be at the forefront of our mission to prevent homelessness and enhance the health and wellbeing of adults with multiple and complex needs. Working closely with the Housing Options Team, you will help develop personalised housing plans and provide ongoing support to ensure positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver excellent customer service with empathy and professionalism.
• Collaborate with various agencies, including private and social landlords, Citizen’s Advice Bureau, Adult Health and Social Care, and health services.
• Identify and support vulnerable customers, handling challenging conversations with sensitivity and effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records, using your computer literacy to quickly learn new systems.

What We're Looking For:
• Essential Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to build effective working relationships and respond to customers with complex needs.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office.
Understanding of confidentiality and data protection issues.
Resilience and the ability to work under pressure.

Desirable Experience:

Experience working with vulnerable or challenging client groups.
Previous roles in housing services or customer-focused environments.
Knowledge of current housing and council services.
Experience in a trauma-informed team.
