Crynodeb

The Ministry of Defence employs over 50,000 Civil Servants. Within that, the Army Top Level Budget (TLB) employs around 7,000 MOD Civil Servants located at over 300 locations. Ours is a diverse workforce, with roles ranging from trainers, human resources, teachers, and psychologists to storekeepers, financiers, project and programme managers, and policy secretariat staff. There are many different functions and professions delivering key outputs for the Army. As such using data to aid understanding of our workforce is vital.

The Joint Services Mountain Training Centre (JSMTC) is one of three units in the Army Adventurous Training Group (AATG). JSMTC trains and qualifies Service Personnel in adventurous training fields as leaders and instructors to support the delivery of adventurous training activity across the Services and to enhance operational capability. We have a Headquarters and delivery Wing on Anglesey and further delivery Wings in Snowdonia, Northern Ireland, the Lake District, the Scottish Highlands and Bavaria, Germany. We also deliver training concentrations in other overseas locations such as Norway, Spain and Canada. We are staffed with a 150-strong, mixed workforce of Military, Civil Service, Locally Employed Civilians and contracted personnel.

We are looking for a new Chief Instructor, based within the HQ Senior Leadership Team on Anglesey. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic and wide-ranging workforce, delivering a highly valued and continuous training output into Defence.
