Summary


A rare and exciting opportunity is available for an experienced health care professional with evidence of working at enhanced level of practice to join the Northumbria Health & Care Academy team as Programme Lead for Enhanced Clinical Practice Apprenticeship Programme.

The post holder, who will be an accomplished educator, will deliver the programme in Partnership with the University of Sunderland. This senior role is key in ensuring the trust is the best place to work and train by educating our current and future workforce.

The post-holder will manage the delivery, development, and provision of the Enhanced Clinical Practice programme alongside counterparts at the University of Sunderland. They will also develop learning and teaching related to evidence-based nursing and research theory.

You will develop the role in relation to student experience, leadership and learning & teaching excellence but also contribute towards the future Research Excellence Framework and Teaching Excellence Framework.

We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, covering one of the largest geographical areas of any NHS trust in the country. Leading in innovation and quality – opening a state of the art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. The Enhanced Clinical Practice Programme will be delivered from the Health and Care Academy at the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington, a brand new space dedicated to the training and education of the nursing, midwifery and allied health professional workforce.

Effectively undertake a lead role in learning & teaching of academic and clinical programmes delivered at the Northumbria Health and Care Academy.

To enhance the reputation of the Northumbria Health and Care Academy and University of Sunderland as a centre of excellence by engaging with teaching, reach-out and research programmes in nursing and health related topics.
