Summary
This is a part-time 10 hours per week role.
You can spread the work over 5 or 2 days depending on the workload, which will vary throughout the month as we recruit in the first week, train in the second and manage in the 3rd. So the beginning of the month is always a little busier.
The hours are typically 10.30 ~ 12.30 and then 13.30 ~15.30.
So this could fit nicely around the school run.
Slow Yoga teach yoga classes to those less able to join a class in a gym, yoga centre or church hall etc.
The bulk of our work is teaching elderly persons in care homes and not so elderly persons with autism, SEN etc in Residential Homes.
We are recruiting more teachers so we can expand outside of our Surrey roots and so we are looking for someone to assist us with that.
Your role will be managing the diaries of our existing teachers, calling / emailing them, and checking that they are happy with their work. Arranging cover teachers when they are going on AL etc.
Your role will also be organising the new teachers that we are in the process of recruiting. This will mean screening applications, arranging telephone interviews and sending them our teaches training course information. Taking care of their compliance documentation, work contract and advising / supporting them about how we work.
Depending on how you get on with this, after a probation period of 3 months and whether you are happy to do so, we can then look at simple bookkeeping, marketing, and networking.
All of the yoga teachers who work for us now are qualified yoga teachers, so in addition to teaching chair-based yoga in care homes, we want to start developing networks with offices and corporations, schools, the NHS, Fire, Police and Prison services with the aim of bringing the wellbeing benefits of Yoga to everyone we dare to think of...
This means the role would not always be remote / home based / office-based but would also require going out to potential clients and talking with them face to face.
Slow Yoga also attend trade expos like the recent Care Show UK at the NEC in Birmingham.
We have also been invited to start working in Italy and Japan, which we are working on now and that is another reason why we need some more 'hands on deck'.
So; if you are a good fit, there will be opportunities for you to travel too.
You should be interested in wellbeing (not necessarily yoga) and lead a fairly clean lifestyle within reason (we can't be angels all the time). Non-smoker and drink socially are OK. A car driver, confident and possess the ability to think and work outside the box. Our CEO worked for a record company in London during the 80s / 90s, so please do not apply if you are scared of a slightly unorthodox approach to work.
And if you have made it this far, then you are obviously interested, so maybe you'd like to watch this video to get some idea of what we do, thanks for being interested and giving us some of your precious time, namaste.
