Summary
Are you currently working in the Custody Environment, do you have 12 months+ experience?
Would you like a new career challenge, managing a small team of CDOs within the Custody suites?
You will be expected to use a computer and various programs competently during your working day.
The role requires the flexibility to work not only in your base Custody suite but across an assigned region in the Police Custody Suites and Force area
What can I earn?
£29000 per annum - Full time - this entails fixed shift working: 06:45 to 19:00 for day shifts and night shifts of 18:45 to 07:00, working in a team rota pattern of 4 shifts on and 4 off. Rolling rota available 2 years in advance.
£150 Refer a friend bonus
What does the role involve?
To supervise the teams of Custody Detention Officers (CDOs) co-ordinate, support, motivate and develop a themin exceeding their performance objectives, ensuring their, safety, welfare and attendance meets all expected requirements. , whilst ensuring the secure detention, care and welfare of detained persons and their property, in accordance with the powers as detailed in the Police Reform Act 2002, ensuring compliance with the provisions of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984.
What are the minimum requirements?
Essential
-Experience of working within a custodial environment is required for this role
-Relevant experience of managing others: setting objectives, 1:2:1 reviews and performance management, leading and inspiring a team
-Confidence in working with individuals with behaviours that may challenge the services
-Able to assess and manage risk of individuals
-Competent in Basic-level skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel and central IT systems (e.g. Data entry and ability to access information about detainees)
-Inter-personal skills: Confident engaging with a wide and diverse range of people, with sensitivity, dignity and respect
Desirable
-Qualifications or relevant experience equivalent to Level 3 or above: g. A or AS level, Advanced Apprenticeship, International Baccalaureate diploma, Level 3 Awards, certificates or diplomas, Level 3 NVQ.
