Summary
Are you an experienced and enthusiastic physiologist within the field of Neurophysiology? If you are looking to expand your knowledge and potential, we are one of the largest Neurophysiology units in the UK looking to recruit a talented physiologist to join our established, friendly team.
Based across 4 of the hospital sites that make up Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT), we have departments in Manchester Royal Infirmary, Royal Manchester Childrens Hospital, Wythenshawe Hospital and the North Manchester Hospital sites. All site departments work as one to make up the Neurophysiology Directorate, with physiologists rotating across sites where necessary.
Routine and non routine testing is undertaken on both adult and paediatric patients, along with specialist services including regular paediatric intraoperative monitoring (IOM) on patients undergoing corrective spinal surgery.
The service is also a partnership Trust in the North Children's Epilepsy Surgery Service (NorCESS) undertaking specialist Neurophysiology including sEEG and ECoG
Training in IOM and sEEG will be available for the right candidates.
The job holder will provide highly complex, specialist, clinical neurophysiology services to patients across all departments, adults and paediatrics. Undertaking regular highly specialist neurophysiological monitoring, which may include intraoperative monitoring on patients undergoing spinal surgery and/or those on the epilepsy surgery pathway undergoing invasive intracranial monitoring. All highly specialist services are undertaken at the Oxford Rd campus in the Royal Manchester Childrens Hospital.
The post holder will be required, as part of a rota, to provide neurophysiological services at the satellite unit based at the Wythenshawe hospital site and be part of the on call EEG weekend rota.
