Cobra Engineering (UK) Ltd is a leading supplier of mechanical engineering services, fabrications, architectural steelwork and equipment to major UK companies in the food processing, water treatment and civil engineering industries.
We have well-equipped, purpose-built workshops based in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire and we work on sites both locally and throughout the country. Due to our continued success, we are looking to recruit an additional experienced 3D design engineer with relevant experience to join our design team using SolidWorks.
You will produce designs and drawings to provide solutions for our mechanical engineering services, fabrications and pipework requirements, supplying our fabrication workshops, site teams and external clients.
Are you the right person for the job?
• SolidWorks Excel, word and CAD applications
• At least two years’ experience
• Metal Fabrication and pipework drawing & design
• Experience working in small teams to high standards, under pressure
• Good communication skills with a strong, flexible team ethic
• Must be able to work on your initiative
• Driving licence required
What will your role look like?
• Liaise with our Project Managers to establish project requirements
• Site measure as required
• Liaise with our Engineers as required
• Ensure that design solutions are accurate, on time and cost-effective
• Consider the optimal fabrication and installation procedures during the design process
• Create 3D models for the design solutions using SolidWorks
• Produce accurate approval drawings which fully detail our proposals
• Produce accurate and timely manufacturing drawings which fully detail what is to be made
• Produce exported files for use by our subcontract suppliers
• Take a flexible approach to your work and support the rest of the team as required so that we meet deadlines
