Crynodeb

The National Recovery Support team is seeking financial leaders with deep experience of working at board level to deliver support as part of NHS England’s National Recovery Support programme.

The National Recovery Support (NRS) team is part of the COO Directorate and brings together expertise on quality, finance, and operational improvement in a single entity, able to diagnose and target the critical underlying drivers of organisational and system failings. The team also has well developed links into the other NHSE directorates to draw down their specialist advice.

We are looking to appoint an Improvement Director who has extensive experience of NHS finances and workforce productivity to deliver sustained improvements to the most challenged organisations in the country as part of the mandated national support our team delivers. Candidates should have a proven track record of delivering at very senior levels and extensive expertise of the financial challenges that can be faced by NHS organisations.

You will be joining a team of senior experts who are passionate about helping NHS trusts and systems achieve the continuous, sustainable improvements needed to be able to give patients the best possible care. We are supportive of flexible working, long-term skills development, and role modelling a strong team culture.

In April 2023, NHS England, NHS Digital, and Health Education England merged to create a new, single organisation to lead the NHS in England. This new NHS England is designed to create a simpler, smaller, high performing, organisation that leads the NHS more effectively and is a better place to work. Speaking with one voice to the service.

The new NHS England board have set out the top-level purpose for the new organisation to lead the NHS in England to deliver high-quality services for all, which will inform the detailed design work and we will achieve this purpose by:
• Enabling local systems and providers to improve the health of their people and patients and reduce health inequalities.
• Making the NHS a great place to work, where our people can make a difference and achieve their potential.
• Working collaboratively to ensure our healthcare workforce has the right knowledge, skills, values and behaviours to deliver accessible, compassionate care
• Optimising the use of digital technology, research, and innovation
• Delivering value for money.
