We support clients to reduce the environmental impacts of their buildings, operations, and transport activities. You will play a key part in this mission by advising clients on environmental strategies, training/engagement, and initiatives to support their sustainability agendas.
What will you do day to day? This Environment & Sustainability Analyst role is a delivery position within Mitie Plan Zero which supports a dedicated client-facing team, embedded within a strategic client account, in delivering a broad range of energy & sustainability services.
In this role you will:
Develop your knowledge of the client's sustainability vision, strategy, commitments, measures, targets, achievements, and challenges;
Research and identify insight that can inform and shape environmental and sustainability strategies;
Undertake market studies on environmental and sustainability trends, technologies, and innovation to support the client's needs;
Support development and take responsibility for maintenance of plans to meet key contractual requirements;
Support the measurement and reporting of environmental sustainability and carbon reduction measures across a key client account;
Deliver high-quality reporting & insight that will drive tangible value and change in sustainability / carbon reporting performance across our client's business;
Source raw data, identify additional data capture requirements and produce compelling presentations / dynamic reports that deliver bespoke value add insights to a multi-level audience;
Support the development of project documentation, proposals, and presentations, with a high level of attention to detail;
Undertake the collection, verification, analysis, and interpretation of a complex range of client sustainability data - both quantitative and qualitative; and
Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of governance processes, with responsibility for:
Collation / production of regular reporting packs to support client and internal meetings;
Maintenance of meeting action logs and team risk logs;
Tracking/monitoring of contractual requirements such as: mandatory training and entertaining/hospitality registers, etc.

Who will you work with?The Plan Zero Consulting Team is part of Mitie's Plan Zero team, the company's business unit responsible for driving the sustainability and decarbonisation agendas of our customers.
This growing team provides: Embedded Sustainability Resource; Decarbonisation pathways; Regulatory Energy & Carbon Compliance; and Transport Consultancy Services.
As an Embedded Sustainability Resource, you will report to a Sustainability Client Delivery Director and work alongside a Head of Sustainability and an Environmental Compliance & Reporting Manager.
This role will work cross-functionally in both Mitie and the client in a matrix-orientated structure, providing support across the team; requiring good stakeholder management and exceptional organisational and communication skills.
What qualifications should you hold? University degree in a relevant field or with equivalent professional experience / qualifications in an appropriate analytics field (maths, economics, computing, science, etc.)
What Experience & Skills are we looking for?This role requires a blend of project co-ordination and analytical experience / skills.
Experience in environmental / energy / carbon compliance is desirable, with a broad understanding of the following mandatory and voluntary reporting requirements:
