Summary
Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is based in a beautiful and historic part of the country about 12 miles from the centre of London with good transport links into the capital. It lies very close to Richmond Park, the River Thames and is close to Hampton Court Palace and Kempton Park. The hospital supports around 350,000 people in the surrounding area from the boroughs of Kingston, Richmond, Roehampton, Putney, Merton and East Elmbridge.
We have approximately 520 beds and directly employ around 2,700 staff, with another 300 staff employed by contractors but working on behalf of the Trust.
We have a 12-14 bedded Intensive care Unit caring for patients requiring level 2 and 3 support.
We invite applications from suitably qualified doctors for the post of Trust Doctor in ITU in our thriving and friendly department for a period of 6 months, to participate in a 1 in 8 junior doctor on call Rota. Previous ICU experience is not essential but competency in airway management is required.
We understand that Trust Doctors come to us with different levels of experience, often in different countries, and we aim to fulfil their educational and career progression needs by supporting training and professional development. All Trust Doctors are assigned a mentor from the department.
We run a 4-tier full shift rota on a 1 in 8 basis.
Each department has a Clinical Lead who reports to the Cluster Director. For the Intensive Care department, the Clinical Lead is Dr Alison Curtis, and the Cluster Director is Dr Matthew Oldfield.
