Summary

Due to relocation my clients current Project Management Office Manager is leaving so they are looking for a PMO Manager to oversee the project management team and ensure on time delivery of projects within the customisation centre portfolio.

The project portfolio consists of military projects as well as civil and Para public (i.e., police, Air ambulance, national grid etc.) and the successful applicant will Lead the PMO team at Oxford who specialise in both new build aircraft and retrofitting in service aircraft as the Project managers line management.

Main responsibilities:-

  • Accountable for portfolio on time delivery KPI.
  • Ownership of the Integrated master schedule.
  • EVM and EAC reviews.
  • Line Management of the Project management team.
  • Day to day management of any projects assigned.
  • Planning, scheduling and de-confliction of all projects in the portfolio.
  • Identification of resource issues.
  • Controlling work package activities between multifunctional teams.
  • Monitoring spends and schedule adherence of assigned projects.
  • Reporting, both internally and to the customer.
  • Risk monitoring, Mitigation and control.

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

Previous management of project managers.

Project planning and controls.

Earned Value Management.

Experience as a PM with MoD as a customer.

Understanding of EASA, UK CAA and UK MAA.

Commercial understanding.

Desirable

Background within an aviation engineering environment.

Experience with Primavera P6.

Experience with SAP.

Experience within a customer facing role.

Experience in a UKCAA PT21 environment.

Education, Qualifications or Training

Essential

Formal Project Management training at practitioner level - APMP, Prince 2 etc.

Background in Aviation.

UK driving license.

Desirable

Formal aviation engineering background is desirable but not essential.

Excellent communication and presentation skills are needed.

You will need to have strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.

Self-motivate and a drive to deliver on time.

Ability to dissect large problems into achievable goals.
