The role

At Volkswagen Financial Services UK (VWFS) we're on an exciting journey and looking for an experienced Internal Communications Manager to join our Digital and Direct team. Our business is evolving and the Internal Communications Manager will be responsible for planning, managing and delivering strategic projects aligned to our company's objectives.

This role holder will be instrumental in building effective stakeholder relationships and business partner our HR and Back Office senior leadership team to translate and communicate key strategic messages. They'll also take a lead on our all our Employee Experience communications.

We are looking for an energetic people person with a hands-on approach to embed our core communication channels whilst educating colleagues to promote key initiatives and exciting activities.

What you will be responsible for…

  • Lead on all Employee Experience internal communications initiatives and projects.
  • Support senior leaders to translate, communicate and embed all key messages and initiatives.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the business function strategy from a communication and engagement perspective i.e. how to make the strategy inspiring and use storytelling to 'bring it to life' for colleagues.
  • In conjunction with HR, drive employee engagement through the design and delivery of relevant communication campaigns to support business-wide engagement such as Great Place to Work (GPTW) and employee surveys.
  • Using the results of engagement surveys for the business function to action plan and help drive positive cultural change.
  • Engage colleagues and support with team building, collaboration and listening activities through multiple channels including live event.
  • Promote and encourage recognition within business function, and champion the Company recognition schemes to improve employee engagement.
  • Support the planning and implementation of functional change such as organisational structure changes by leading the adoption of effective change management practices, positive messaging and the sharing of success stories.
  • Intranet editor responsibility to ensure information is accurate and up to date, in line with the tone and format of the site.
  • Stakeholder management across the organisation to ensure correct cadence of messaging.
  • Implement and manage project audits, metrics and KPI performance measures.
  • In conjunction with line manager select and manage external suppliers and agencies to achieve effectiveness and cost efficiencies.
  • Support the wider internal communications team and lead on enterprise wide projects.

Who are we looking for?

  • Previous Internal communications experience
  • Experience of managing multiple, changing priorities and deadlines
  • Experience of presenting and communicating effectively at all levels
  • Ability to constructively challenge and share opinions to create solutions
  • Builds credibility and can communicate at all levels across the business
  • Commercial awareness
  • Creative approach to problem solving.
  • Strong literacy and written communication skills essential
  • Previous copywriting and editorial experience
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver to deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Comfortable in working in a face paced, changeable environment
  • Excellent stakeholder management experience
  • Passionate about employee engagement and driving positive cultural change
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Communications, Journalism, PR or Marketing related degree (or equivalent experience)
