Job Title: FEMALE Night Personal Assistant (PA)

Rate of Pay: £11.59
Nature of the job role: The post is to support an elderly Asian woman who has a diagnosis of bipolar disorder living in the WV14 area of Bilston who requires help during the day & night to enable her to live comfortably and happily in home environment.
Main Duties:
assisting day carer with safe transfer to bed at night, assist with night medication and in the morning with a full body wash, giving breakfast, assisting with safe transfer from bed to riser recliner and commode as needed, assisting with fluid intake and medication. Ensure clients hygiene is always maintained. You will be checking oxygen saturations at night and temperature and will be given training. Ensure that skin integrity is maintained and management of pain through applying prescribed gel and administration of medication when required.
You would be at an advantage if you can check BP and oxygen saturations, use hoist and other moving and assisting equipment, however training can be given. Ensure that skin integrity is maintained and management of pain through applying prescribed gel and administration of medication.
Any other reasonable duties that may be necessary.
Must be flexible, person centred, able to accurately report, good communication skills to liaise with professionals, family members and colleagues, positive attitude and be kind and patient.
Hours of work: Nights – 8pm – 8:30am
Days to be discussed at interview with Employer.
Opportunity to access funded diploma in health and social care after 6 months of successful appointment.
Qualifications:
Previous Care Experience Essential
Experience of working with individuals with complex needs
Female only
Punjabi or Hindi speaking preferred.
Skills & Experience:
Successful applicants will require DBS checks and Employment references.
Only applicants who can deliver a high level of care will be considered. You must be reliable, trustworthy, patient and show an aptitude for this type of work with a willingness to show some flexibility in the hours that you work. Some experience of working with people with complex care needs essential.

This role is funded by the Local Authority and is paid 4 weekly.
