About the role

Buxton and Leek College, as part of the University of Derby, are excited to welcome applicants to teach on our highly successful Maths programmes at the Leek and Buxton Campus. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Lecturer of Maths who can teach across a range of qualifications including Functional Skills and GCSE. We welcome candidates with a range of experience. We have a highly motivated and friendly English and Maths team who have the skills to support both a newly qualified or more experienced practitioner of maths within our welcoming department.

You'll work within the English and maths team to deliver learning for our 16-19 study programmes, apprentices, and also adult learners - supporting their individual learning needs and monitoring their progress across our College sites. You'll plan the delivery of Maths lessons, monitor and focus on the key aspects of attendance and engagement, and you will also fully engage with and carry out all safeguarding responsibilities as required by the role.

Whilst this will primarily be classroom based, we also require candidates to have the digital skills to deliver effective lessons using a range of online resources and platforms (for example Microsoft teams or Blackboard). Our tutors will need to be adaptable, creative and resourceful in the face of the current challenges in education.

Actual hours and days will be described in a ‘Schedule of Work’.
