Summary


The Information Governance Officer will provide efficient and effective support to the Information Governance Manager to establish, maintain and achieve an organisation-wide information governance framework which ensures the Trust meets its statutory, regulatory and performance obligations in relation to Data Protection Act 2018, the General Data Protection Regulations, Confidentiality, Information Sharing and data security.

To assist the Information Governance Manager to continue to establish a proactive and integrated approach to information governance through maintaining robust and effective policies, systems and processes that ensure the IG function is embedded throughout the Trust.

To support the Trust by co-ordinating the Data Security Protection Toolkit (DSPT) and to develop and implement improvement plans in areas where required to ensure continued compliance and improvements are achieved Trust wide..





To assist the department to produce and gather evidence for the timely completion of the Trust’s IG activities.

· To assist the Information Governance Manager in the development of policies, procedures, and guidance in all areas of Information Governance in conjunction with other specialists where necessary.

· To proactively support and promote the information governance culture throughout the Trust.

· Provide administration duties for the maintenance of Trust’s Information Governance Reporting Suite

· Provide administration duties for the maintenance of the Trusts data flow mapping database to ensure all the flows are recorded accurately within the Trust, and between partner organisations.

· To participate in audits, dataflow mapping, data sharing agreements and incident reporting.

· To assist the Information Governance and Cyber Security team to ensure that the Trust’s approach to information risk is effective in terms of resource, commitment and execution and that this is communicated to all staff.

· To undertake timely and relevant risk/incident assessments to proactively identify risks regarding data protection compliance.

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.

· To interpret the requirements of the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulations, Caldicott and any other relevant guidance as part of the IG agenda

· To proactively support and promote the information governance culture throughout the Trust

· To assist the Information Governance Manager in the development of policies, procedures, and guidance in all areas of Information Governance in conjunction with other specialists where necessary

· To assist the department to produce and gather evidence for the timely completion of the Trust’s DSPT

· Populate the Trusts DSPT action plans and follow up on outstanding actions via email, telephone and on occasion face to face with the toolkit’s assertion owners

· Aid and support to the Information Asset Owners / Administrators within the Trust to complete necessary reviews, ensuring any identified risks are escalated as appropriate

· Provide administration duties for the maintenance of Trusts Information Asset register

· Provide administration duties for the maintenance of the Trusts data flow mapping database to ensure all the flows are recorded accurately within the Trust, and between partner organisations

· Provide support and assistance to the Information Govenance Manager in line with Trust Policy for the completion of Data Protection Impact Assessments as required

· To assist in the delivery of internal mandated Data Security Awareness related training as part of the Trust’s mandatory training programme

· To participate in completion of audits, including safe haven use audits and audits of compliance against all policies, processes and strategies

· Provide support and assistance to the Information Governance Manager in line with Trust Policy for the completion of Data Sharing Agreements in line with Trust Policy

· Co-ordinate meetings as necessary ensuring facilities are booked

· To carry out investigations to ensure that identified data breach risks are followed up and incidents managed

· To assist the Information Governance and Cyber Security team to ensure that the Trust’s approach to information risk is effective in terms of resource, commitment and execution and that this is communicated to all staff
• To undertake timely and relevant risk/incident assessments to proactively identify risks regarding data protection compliance
