Summary

The purpose of the post is:
to work as part of the e-Learning Team to create, develop and promote the successful and innovative use of e-Learning and EdTech in teaching, learning and assessment across the College. The postholder will provide expert advice and support tutors to grow their digital skills in order to develop their own professional practice, and they will facilitate the use of relevant digital resources with students and staff. The postholder will also make a significant contribution to the development of e-Learning resources and activities for independent learning.

Person Specification

For this post, we are looking for a person who can bring creativity and inspiration to the role, applying substantial knowledge and experience of e-Learning and EdTech, ideally developed in the FE sector. The successful candidate will model best practice in the application and delivery of EdTech to develop the quality of teaching, learning and assessment. We need practical evidence of how well you meet each of the following criteria.
Education:
1. Good standard of general education and/or vocational education including Level 2 English and maths. Have, or be willing to work towards, a teaching qualification such as the Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) or Award in Education and Training (AET).
2. First degree / HND / Apprenticeship and experience demonstrating progression or equivalent experience.
Skills:
1. Have excellent customer service skills, being able to relate to staff and students at all levels.
2. Significant experience of using e-Learning and digital resources to enhance teaching, learning and assessment.
3. Significant experience of designing and delivering professional development and training sessions to staff on EdTech and e-Learning content.
4. Secure knowledge of current trends in EdTech, e-Learning and Further Education (and HE in FE) digital resources.
5. Significant experience of developing and administering Virtual Learning Environments such as Moodle and Microsoft Teams.
6. Experience to developing digital content and e-Resources including ‘how to guides’, videos and delivering appropriate training for staff.
7. Significant experience of using new technologies such as blogs, mobile apps, social media, and collaborative technologies in order to promote e-Learning.
Personal Experience:
1. Have good organisational, problem solving, administrative, oral and written communication skills.
2. Possess a Literacy, Numeracy qualification at Level 2 and the appropriate IT skills relevant to the post, or be willing to undertake training.
3. The ability to work as part of a team in the management and successful delivery of project outcomes and to prioritise workloads when working on multiple projects.
4. Be willing to work flexible hours as necessary, including early starts and evening work.
5. Be willing to undertake training and development as required within the role.
6. Have an awareness and understanding of equal opportunities.
7. Have an awareness of the safeguarding and prevent initiatives.
