Summary
We welcome applications to join our well established team of Medical Examiners at BHT. You will support the GPs in writing MCCDs, review notes and speak to next of kin. You will be supported by Medical Examiner Officers. The post is primarily community based however some sessions can be worked within the Trust ME offices. The session will be in the afternoon between 13.00-17.00.
The Post Holder will discuss causes of death with the doctor completing the MCCD or may advise on coroner referral. They will scrutinise the clinical notes on EMIS looking for points of learning, and contact the next of kin to explain the MCCD and ask for feedback regarding care. They will work closely with the ME Officers. This post is community based and the deaths reviewed are predominantly Primary Care.
The post is part of a well established team of Medical Examiners in Buckinghamshire supporting GPs in writing MCCDs, reviewing notes and speaking to next of kin. The team is supported by a number of Medical Examiner Officers. The ME can work remotely during their weekly afternoon session.
