Summary

- One off retention payments paid on completion of 2, 3 and 5 years' service at £1000, £1500 and £2000 respectively
- *If applicable an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) Honorarium of £2,929 per annum, paid monthly, and any additional AMHP hours paid at £22 per hour

Your roles and responsibilities
- To have direct contact with service users. This will include undertaking social circumstances report, Mental Health review Tribunal reports, Managers Hearing report and section 117 Aftercare responsibilities.
- Undertake the role of social supervisor for adults with restriction orders. Adhere and implement guidance set out by Mental Health Case Worker Section for Conditionally Discharged adults.
- Assessing the social care needs as part of rehabilitation and as part of discharge planning.
- Work effectively within a multi-disciplinary setting and will ensure that effective coordination exists and is maintained, between the various stakeholders involved.
- Demonstrate confident and effective judgement about risk and accountability in decision-making and be able to sustain engagement with fluctuating circumstances and capacities.
- Use professional judgement, employing a range of interventions: promoting independence, providing support and protection taking preventative action and ensuring safety whilst balancing rights and risks.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records adhering to professional standards.
- Take a lead role within the team to safeguard Adults and Children in line with safeguarding policies.

You will need
- Social Work qualification (diploma/degree).
- Current and valid registration with Social Work England.
- At least 1-year mental health experience.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality care.
- Experience of working within mental health social work is desirable.
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development.

The team

We are a countywide team, working 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday, in partnership with Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust. The team will consist of one Social Worker and line manager. The primary function of the Social Worker is to undertake the Social Supervision role, working with adult’s conditional discharge to the community. This will require liaison with Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust partners, Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) and the Ministry of Justice. Additionally, working with adults detained under section 37/41 during inpatient admissions, to support their journey into the community.
