An exciting opportunity has now arisen for an experienced Haemodialysis/Renal Nurse to join the dialysis access team,a 6-month secondment posts as a Band 7 – Clinical Nurse Specialist in Vascular Access. Working alongside other dialysis access Link Nurses and unit managers, you will ensure patients are safely prepared for all aspects of dialysis access procedures and ensure the highest quality care is delivered to these patients.

As the vascular access nurse specialist for the dialysis service, you will provide specialist nursing advice to support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients/client’s vascular access needs without supervision and in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team. This will be in line with local and national targets.
You should be flexible in your approach to the clinical area and to provide cover for the dialysis service acting as professional role model providing direct and indirect clinical care, teaching and research.
The post holder will be expected to liaise appropriately with all key members of the multi-disciplinary team and service users related to vascular access services. In addition, the post holder will be required to liaise with their peers across the Trust and will be expected to liaise with colleagues external to the Trust and within the London Kidney Network.
The ability to work autonomously, motivated, with excellent communication skills, have demonstrable post registration renal experience, possess a recognised renal course and mentorship qualification.
Successful candidate will be expected to be visible to the clinical teams while working across 5 sites, so strong time management and organizational skills are key to the success in this role.
