“The most important asset of any library goes home at night - the library staff” [Tim Healy]
This is a key front-line post, vital to the delivery of quality library services throughout Calderdale.
The post combines both 'traditional' stock issue/return with satisfying customer requests for stock/information - as well as support for customers using public PCs and for library events (readers groups, author talks).
If you want to become one of our “important assets”, it's essential that you have experience of working with the public in a library or other reception/customer service environment (in a paid or voluntary capacity), are literate, numerate, and willing to participate in promotional activities to keep libraries relevant to their local communities.
It's desirable that you have some experience of working with computerised systems, and of using online services - although training will be given on the job.
