Summary


This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, ambitious and highly motivated speciality doctor to join our Trauma & Orthopaedics team, based at Dorset County Hospital for a 12 month fixed term contract, with the possibility of substantive recruitment thereafter.

Applicants should have full GMC registration and a licence to practice with the General Medical Council.

Expected interview date: 13th June 2024
• To provide inpatient and outpatient Trauma and Orthopaedic services and to provide additional support to the lower limb arthroplasty services
• To be part of a Multidisciplinary Team, which include Consultants in Anaesthetics and Rheumatology (pain service), Radiology, Pathology and Elderly Care, nursing staff, physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.
• To contribute to the training of Higher and Basic Surgical Trainees and other professional team members.
• To ensure a high level of efficiency and effectiveness in the provision of patient care.
• To fulfil continuing professional development requirements in line with clinical governance.
• To develop special interests to enhance what is currently undertaken in the department.
• To participate in audit and other areas of Directorate responsibility.
• To participate in audit and other areas of the Care Group responsibility.
• To attend and actively participate in monthly education meetings.

Dorset County NHS Foundation Trust (DCHFT) is located close to the centre of the county town of Dorchester and is a modern hospital. It provides the full range of general, acute hospital services, including an emergency department.
