Summary

HGV Class 1 Shunters Wanted In TELFORD!

Logistics People are looking for HGV Shunters/HGV Class 1 Shunters/LGV Shunters/LGV Class 1 Shunters/Class 1 Shunters at our CML Telford depot.

Location: Telford

Working Hours: Part Time - 2 On 6 Off Night Shifts Available

Pay rate: £14.00 P/hr

As a HGV Shunter for Logistics People your role will consist of various duties including but not limited to:

• Working within the Transport Department the main purpose of the role is to ensure a smooth transition when loading, unloading trailers, and ensuring maintenance and safety at all times.
• Observing and adhering to company rules, site procedures and all aspects of Health & Safety and Hygiene at all times
• Effectively managing own working time in line with the Road Transport Directive
• Liaising with colleagues and ensuring completion of shift report
• Conducting daily checks, immediately reporting any defects and / or damage and completing associated documentation
• Carrying out trailer checks on loaded trailers and report to ops staff
• Completing trailer checklist and reporting to operations desk
• Carrying out shunting duties including relevant maintenance and safety checks
• Liaising with the warehouse control and goods in staff to ensure smooth and efficient loading / unloading of trailers
• Completing vehicles downloads as per the company policy
• Monitoring services / MOTs – liaising with Transport Office and with service vendor
• Assisting with fuel delivery / manual dip of fuel
• Keeping yard in clean / tidy condition
• Liaising with Transport Office as and when required i.e. special promotions and / or livery schedules
• Manage the flow of traffic in and out of the yard

About You:

• Must hold currently hold a C+E licence
• Attention to detail / accurate
• Ability to work without direct supervision
• Adaptable and methodical approach to work / training
• Conscientious and reliable
• Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information
• Able to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
• Effectively prioritise workload in order to meet set deadlines
• Able to work as part of a team or individually
• Able to work effectively and communicate to the correct level
• Have knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers’ hours
• Be professional, approachable and helpful to ensure smooth running of the general operation
• Maintaining a high standard of behaviour and appearance
• Attending company training when required
