Social Worker - Level 2 - Children
Description
We are currently seeking a Level 2 Social Worker with a specialization in working with children. As a Social Worker for our organization, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and their families. In this role, you will be responsible for providing a range of services to support children's well-being and ensure their safety.
You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess the needs of children and develop personalized care plans. You will provide counseling, support, and advocacy to children and their families, helping them navigate challenging situations and access appropriate resources. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring the progress of children and implementing interventions as needed.
Responsibilities
Conduct assessments to determine the needs and risk factors affecting children and their families.
Develop and implement care plans that address the specific needs of children, incorporating input from the child, family, and relevant professionals.
Provide individual and group counseling to children to address emotional, behavioral, and social challenges.
Collaborate with external agencies, schools, and healthcare providers to coordinate services and support for children and their families.
Attend court proceedings and provide testimony as required, ensuring the best interests of the child are represented.
Monitor the progress of children and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, making adjustments as necessary.
Provide crisis intervention and support to children and families in emergencies or stressful situations.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field.
Valid [state] Social Worker license.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children in a social work capacity.
Knowledge of child development theories, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based practices in child welfare.
Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection and welfare.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
