Summary
The Technology Apprentice in AQS is expected to apply the knowledge, skills, and behaviours they gain from their Level 4 DevOps Apprenticeship Qualification to complete the following responsibilities:
Working within a team of support engineers to maintain the developer estate, resolve technical queries, implement system changes, and triage to specialists where appropriate.
Working with a wide range of constantly adapting technologies and skills across all business needs.
Improve tools and processes via automation, scripting, and development.
Training
DevOps Engineer Apprenticeship Level 4
Combining software development and IT operations helps to shorten the development lifecycle and ensure continuous delivery in your organisation.
With a focus on infrastructure, automation, rapid development, and deployment at its heart, a Kaplan DevOps Engineer apprenticeship is anything but standard.
Our DevOps Engineer apprenticeship programme integrates seven modules of technical training with work based projects. This ensures that learning and skills are directly applied to the apprentice’s role, and maximises the time used as part of off-the-job training.
The modules include:
DevOps Introduction
Python Programming Fundamentals
Cloud Services
Infrastructure and Security
DevOps Tooling
Scripting and Automation
EPA Readiness Training
For each module, learners benefit from attending small, scheduled Live Online classes taught by a subject matter specialist, combined with additional online learning that can be completed at their own pace. Each of our live classes are interactive and discursive, giving apprentices quality time with tutors and sector peers to support the development of their knowledge and skills and bring new perspectives to their thinking. Learners also get practical lab time to hone their skills and practice using real data in a safe but simulated environment.
Qualifications required
A Levels grade A-C including one in a STEM subject as a minimum.
GCSEs grade 9/A*-4-C
Skills required
Strong academic record in mathematics and science; takes an analytic approach to problem solving.
Familiarity with a Linux Operating System is preferable.

Qualification / Standard : ST0825 DevOps engineer
Duration 21 Months
