Summary

We seek to appoint an enthusiastic and well organised individual to work in our Science laboratories. The work will involve preparing materials and resources for Science lessons and working with other Science Technicians. There is the opportunity to appoint to the role of Senior Technician for a suitable candidate but we welcome applications for individuals interested in being trained to perform this important role.

You must have excellent organisational and communication skills, as well as a positive ‘can do’ attitude. Our school has served the families of Poynton, Disley, Adlington and surrounding areas since 1972 and we lie at the heart of this community’s learning needs. We pride ourselves on our vision as a school which serves our whole community and which works in partnership with our colleagues in other schools. We have approximately 1450 students in Years 7 to 13 and offer a wide range of A levels in our successful Sixth Form.

The Science Team is made up of 14 teachers committed to maintaining the popularity of Science courses throughout the school. The team shares a great pride in the extremely high success rates achieved over a number of years by our students in external examinations. In Chemistry there are currently three specialist teachers ensuring a high level of expertise through to KS5. The Team has a total of 12 fully equipped Science laboratories and an environmental classroom and pond and has the services of four full-time laboratory technicians.
