About You

To be successful in this role, you will need...

Essential Requirements:
A minimum of a national governing body Level 3 qualification in one sport or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Proven experience in leading, managing performance, and developing people and teams.
Operational management experience, implementing and developing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with safeguarding and Ofsted regulations.
Comprehensive knowledge of school curriculum, physical education, and community-based school sports partnerships.
Experience in delivering PE sessions to children aged 4-12 years old in schools.
Experience working with children or young people in a sports activity/ play setting.
Proficiency in financial planning and budget management.

Desirable Requirements:
Understanding of local provisions and issues relating to children and young people.
Project management experience.
Previous experience as a Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Current Designated Safeguarding Lead Certificate.
Current Paediatric First Aid Certificate.

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sports Education & Activities Manager to oversee all aspects of our Children's Programmes , including Primary School Physical Education, Playscheme, Swimming School, After School Sports Clubs, and Youth Gym Memberships in the YMCA Club, located in Central London.

Key Responsibilities:

The Sports Education & Activity Manager role is pivotal in ensuring our sports education and activities for children and young people align with our organisational goals, focusing strongly on safeguarding and adherence to relevant legislation and Ofsted regulations.

You will manage our school and playscheme contracts with external stakeholders and oversee the sports activities for children and young people in the YMCA Club, ensuring high-quality delivery, adherence to budgets, and achievement of commercial targets.

Reporting to the Director of Education & Training, you will lead the School Sports Coaches, Swimming Teachers, Playworkers, and their respective Team Coordinators.

You will actively cultivate a culture of high performance and create a positive and inclusive environment that fosters teamwork within both the Sports Education and Activities teams. You will develop and implement strategies to inspire and empower team members to deliver high-quality physical education sessions for primary schools and engaging sports activities for children and young people.

The Sports Education & Activities Manager also acts as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the department, promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people under our care.

Regulated Activity:
