What you'll be doing;



You will be a key member of the Municipal finance team responsible for reporting on the Southwark PFI to the external auditors and ownership of all financial reporting to Group central finance. To provide the relevant operational business with all financial control and accounting functions on a daily basis. Supporting the delivery of corporate compliance and governance in relation to the business

and financial systems.



This opportunity is key to eliminate penalties, restrictions on trading and compliance within statutory and legal requirements. Critical to success will be spending time with members of the relevant Senior Leadership Team to understand the business strategy and challenges to ensure financial support is fit for purpose and in line with the wider Veolia strategy.



  • The Consolidation of accurate monthly management accounts for P&Ls within the role-holder's remit plus reporting results and
  • variances to the Regional Manager and Senior Contract Managers
  • The responsibility to oversee and prepare forecasts/budgets in liaison with operations managers, Regional Manager and supporting/advising as required
  • Capex reporting & forecasting
  • Supporting the Regional Manager with the preparation of financial modelling for infrastructure developments and business opportunities
  • Business Partner for the Regional Manager and operational managers
  • Demonstrating strong Balance Sheet controls for your own cost centres including preparation of control account reconciliations as well as reviews of all balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the team
  • Ensuring that the business performance is correctly measured and accurately reported
  • Providing support for Internal and External Audit together with any relevant queries
  • Supporting any ad hoc project requests within the team
  • Ensuring compliance with Accounting Standards and other specific internal and external guidelines
  • Responsible for the Vector reporting process and challenging the Balance sheet and P&L from a legal entity perspective.
  • Preparation of the statutory accounts for the Southwark entity
  • Systems user for Workday, Planning Analytics and Power BI
  • Compliance with all Veolia policies and procedures
  • Involvement in systems replacement projects
  • Verification of VAT reporting and investigating any irregularities. Work with business owners on understanding to ensure accuracy
  • Understand and authorise user access to Finance systems
  • Other tasks as required to fulfil business needs on audit and compliance
  • Support for the wider business strategy and consistent reporting to external clients







What we're looking for;

  • Qualification with a recognised UK accounting body e.g ACA, ACCA, CIMA
  • Reconciliation experience
  • Experience of statutory accounts preparation and compliance useful
  • Knowledge and experience of VAT compliance useful not essential
  • Min 5 years experience in a finance team
  • An individual with strong business partnering skills
