Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic and experienced dietitian to join our dynamic and progressive Paediatric Diabetes Team at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within either diabetes or paediatrics however we would be able to support your development in this area.

This team is well established and provides an inpatient and outpatient service across two hospital sites, as well as support in the community.

Alongside another paediatric diabetes dietitian you will be responsible for a paediatric diabetes caseload of over 200 children across Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells area. This post is based at Maidstone with clinics on Wednesdays and Fridays. You will work closely with members of the multi-disciplinary team, including Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurses (PDSNs) and Consultant Paediatricians, attend regular multi-disciplinary team clinics, and provide inpatient and community support, you will also be involved in providing training and contribute to diabetes network groups. As a band 6 you will be be encouraged to contribute to service development and ensure the service meets the Best Practice Tariff for diabetes.

We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication skills and commitment to Continuous Professional Development, who can work autonomously and as part of an inter-disciplinary team with the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines without compromising care.

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital Trust in the county of Kent.

The Trust provides a full range of general hospital services and some areas of specialist complex care to around 760,000 people living in the south part of West Kent and the north part of East Sussex.

The Trust’s core catchment areas are Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and their surrounding boroughs. We work from two main clinical sites: Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. Tunbridge Wells Hospital opened in 2011 and provides single rooms with en-suites for all in-patients – the first of its kind in the country.
