Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a Booking Co-ordinator to join the fantastic Paediatrics team. The Booking Co-ordinator role is pivotal in ensuring we achieve several government targets around patient waiting times. Your duties will involve making and rescheduling patient appointments using the electronic patient record platform whilst applying knowledge of targets and specialty specific requirements. You will also be liaising with patients via the telephone, dealing with queries from internal and external contacts, providing an efficient and effective administration service.

We are looking for a candidate that has a good basic education, GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English, and who have clear, concise verbal and written communication skills, to enable liaison with multi-disciplinary teams and patients. A basic understanding of Microsoft applications would be helpful but is not essential as training will be provided. You must be able to work well in a team and feel comfortable working under pressure but also have the ability to work autonomously when required.
• To provide an excellent service to our patients, their relatives and carers.
• To provide a comprehensive and quality administration service that co-ordinates the patient pathway from referral through to discharge in line with waiting time targets.
• To work as part of a patient administration service and provide cross-cover for other staff across the function to ensure a consistent and effective administration service is maintained at all times
