Summary

Join our Team as a part-time SEN Teaching Assistant at Wheatfield Primary School! Start Date: September 2024Salary: Grade 10, FTE annual Salary £24,702-£25,979 (actual salary £17,945.13-£18,872.83) Contract: Fixed term contract until 31/08/2025, subject to a review of the school’s budget. Hours: 31.25 Hours (Monday to Friday, 08:45-15:30 with a half an hour unpaid lunch break), term time only plus inset daysWe would consider a job share for the right candidates (morning / afternoon split)The RoleWe are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic, calm and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to support SEN across the school. This would be with children with a range of complex special educational needs, including social, emotional and mental health, autism and global delay. Therefore, a successful candidate would need experience of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and trauma, communication and interaction strategies and a knowledge of physical and sensory strategies. The role would be on a 1:1 or small group basis and would support children to improve their learning experience and their integration into mainstream whole class and group learning.The role would require planning of provision in line with EHCP outcomes in liaison with the class teacher and would include; sensory diet, behaviour management techniques, co-regulation and regulation strategies and personalising the curriculum. The role would require flexibility, adaptability and a willingness to work as part of a team to support SEN children across the school.Please refer to the candidate information pack for further details about the role.
