Your Role as an Intelligence Analyst

As an Intelligence Analyst at HMP Addiewell, you will be responsible for collating, researching, and disseminating intelligence products to identify threats within the establishment, in accordance with our Prisons Intelligence Model. You will support the Tactical Tasking and Coordination Group by providing effective analysis to aid in decision-making. Additionally, you will liaise with various law enforcement agencies as needed and provide statistical data and analysis to senior management within specified timescales.

You will assist security and operations in enhancing intelligence reporting by identifying specific intelligence gaps. Your role also includes supporting the Safer Custody team in identifying, reducing, and preventing issues, and managing related incidents. This involves conducting further analysis on our information reporting system when concerns arise regarding safer custody topics. Furthermore, you will analyse CCTV footage for investigative purposes and attend prisoner employment boards to provide analytical support.

The Ideal Candidate

Expected Skills/Competencies:

  • Previous experience in a custodial and/or law enforcement environment
  • Ability to work on own initiative in a highly confidential environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate good administrative skills and to be able to cope with the high volume of information received.
  • Have good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Have excellent team working skills.
  • Drive and determination.
  • Be IT confident and comfortable using Microsoft Office software.
  • It would be advantageous if you are ANACAPA Science or I2 trained.
