About Us: We are a welcoming and inclusive nursery located in Barnstaple, dedicated to providing a supportive and enriching environment for our young learners. We are currently looking for enthusiastic and flexible Nursery Assistants to join our team on a part-time or supply basis.

Job Description: As a Nursery Assistant, you will support the nursery team in delivering engaging and effective care and education to our young children. Your main duties will include:

• Assisting in the preparation and delivery of nursery activities.
• Providing one-on-one or small group support to children.
• Supporting children with their personal, social, and emotional development.
• Helping to manage behavior and ensure a positive learning environment.
• Assisting with the planning and organization of nursery activities and events.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the nursery team in managing daily activities and administrative tasks.
• Work with individual children or small groups to support their learning and development.
• Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for children with additional needs.
• Help prepare and organize learning materials and resources.
• Monitor and record children's progress, providing feedback to the nursery staff.
• Foster a safe and encouraging learning environment for all children.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Nursery Assistant or in a similar childcare role is preferred.
• A passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 Certificate in Early Years Education) are preferred but not essential.
• DBS clearance or willingness to undergo a DBS check.
