A brand-new Laboratory Assistant (Summer Placement Student) vacancy has arisen in our fast-growing company. This is a fantastic
opportunity to join our team.




LOCATION: Roman Bank, Skegness

JOB TITLE: Laboratory Assistant (Placement Student)

JOB TYPE: Temporary Contract

HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday – 9.00am to 5.00pm (over 18 half an hour unpaid lunch break or under 18 an hour unpaid lunch
break)

SALARY RANGE: £12.00 per hour over 18 £11.00 per hour under 18




JOB DESCRIPTION:




As a summer intern, you will be supporting your department with day-to-day tasks, such as:

* Routine and ad-hoc testing and activities within the Micronclean Laboratory.
* Sample preparation, conditioning, testing and disposal or preservation if necessary.
* Interpretation and reporting of results.
* Maintenance of the laboratory; keeping the laboratory equipment in a clean, safe, operational condition, including arranging,
and carrying out calibration tests where applicable.
* Support and contribute to the advancement and creation of new laboratory test methods.
* Provide an active role in supporting the wash trial facility.
* Effectively communicate and support other business functions with testing understanding, results, and scientific knowledge.




Whilst also supporting the company with a specific project which will be assigned to you when you first start at Micronclean.




Job Role & Key Responsibilities:




* Administer, undertake, and manage laboratory testing and activities in the Micronclean Laboratory, including microbiological,
chemical, and physical testing.
* To provide testing to support product, service, process, and technology development projects, with the aim of adding quality
and value.
* Report, interpret and act upon routine testing results, including investigation and resolution where appropriate.
* Maintain full, accurate and retrievable records of testing details, results and related testing management documentation and
reports.




Knowledge and Skills:




* Scientific experience preferred, but not essential (an undergraduate part way through a degree in biology, chemistry,
microbiology, or related subjects, would be an advantage).
* Good IT skills in the use of Microsoft Office products.
* Good communication skills.

* Personal drive and self-motivation.
* Good time-management skills.
* Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
* Good planning and recording skills.
* Fluent spoken and written English.
