Summary


An exciting opportunity to provide clinical leadership to the acute Children’s Speech & Language therapy team.

Day-to-day organisational management of the team, professional delivery of the services provided across three hospital sites and supporting best practice clinical care for children requiring speech & language therapy management.

The post holder will work with the head of acute children’s therapies, the other clinical lead therapists and other key stakeholder to provide a best clinical care based on evidence and national guidance.

The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the physiotherapy team, including leave management, recruitment and appraisals.

The post holder will provide clinical leadership for the acute paediatric speech and language therapy service at the Royal London Hospital. Responsibilities will include the day-to-day operational management, professional delivery of the service and will lead on the development of the team in line with service objectives.

The post holder will be part of a clinical leadership group in acute children’s therapies and play, working collaboratively with the head of acute children’s therapies and play.

The post holder will actively participate in the training of the specialist, junior, and student speech and language therapists as well as other health care professionals in paediatric speech and language therapies. The post holder will carry a clinical case load in acute paediatric speech and language therapy.

Specialist service include a paediatric critical care unit, complex feeding, developmental communication, respiratory including ventilation and tracheostomy care and outpatient services for voice therapy and video fluoroscopy.
