Reporting into the Director of Global Imports, this role is directly responsible for prospecting; building overseas partnerships and sales channels; customer acquisition; lead development and account early life support.


About the role
You will sell and market Royal Mail to customers, usually in developed markets, as the preferred entry point for UK and cross-border international parcel delivery backed by competitive pricing and product and QoS enhancements. You’ll identify and develop overseas business opportunities in developed markets (esp. Europe and the USA), contributing to the related customer and partnership strategy, ensuing activities to achieve target Global Import and cross-border product portfolio and revenue growth.

You will lead relationships and business development with overseas customers and channel partners in the developed markets, providing input and oversight to other related eCommerce, digital and marketing activities in global markets, where cultural and language sensitivity and experience are required. Alongside this, you’ll represent Royal Mail at industry events where RMI participate,

You will build and implement a target revenue growth pipeline, and identify and support the introduction of clearance and value chain developments to maximize revenue and value potential.

About you

To truly excel in the role, you possess the necessary skills and experience listed below -

Key skills
• Evidence of business development of cross-border ecommerce logistics services, ideally in Europe and/or the USA and surrounding region, with exposure to postal and commercial flows.
• Evidence of creativity in the development of cross-border ecommerce with a focus on adding value to existing propositions
• Significant experience in the negotiation of contracts with both large and SME customers

• Excellent relationship builder internally and externally, proactively able to pull together parties from disparate functions to realise opportunities

Experience
• Significant exposure to the developed markets cross-border ecommerce business with a good network of contacts
• Proven sales/business development track record
• Has led, or significantly contributed to, the development of one or (ideally) more value chain enhancements in cross-border ecommerce
