Paediatric Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialist Band 6

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our dedicated benign haematology team as a band 6. The team covers the South West region working with children and families diagnosed with benign Haematology conditions (predominantly Sickle Cell disease and Haemophilia) and the team plan and provide family centred care for this patient group . This will include providing personalised care and support for families in the in-patient, out-patient and community setting as part of the larger multi-disciplinary team. This patient group encompasses a diverse population, and so the post holder will need to recognise and adapt to their requirements.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication and IT skills who is able to exercise initiative and has a flexible approach to work. This is a full time post working flexible hours Monday-Friday and will need to have a full driving license and have access to a vehicle.

In partnership with the line manager develop the skills to provide specialist nursing advice and support to patients including their families.

To develop, improve, and promote the service ensuring the delivery of high quality, cost effective care utilising the support and guidance of senior colleagues.

To provide patients and staff with specialist advice to manage complex symptoms

Education

To participate in the planning and delivery of formal and informal education programmes for patients, carers and all staff.

Research and Audit

To assist in the collation and recording of quantitative and qualitative data that provides evidence of productivity, outcomes and quality, through audit and research.
