We currently have a great opportunity for a Solicitor / Legal Executive to join our in-house Homes Plus Legal Services teams on a permanent basis. We're looking for a dedicated professional to bring our values to life and ensure our customers receive outstanding services.
The Role
As a Solicitor / Legal Executive, you will provide timely advice on all aspects of Housing Law and Civil litigation across the Group. As part of the Legal Services team, you will deal with all aspects of contentious housing management including possession, disrepair, anti-social behaviour and other tenancy and housing management issues.
As postholder, you will effectively monitor and manage caseloads, maintain legal case files, drafting legal documentation including small claims and fast track county court applications. You will also be an advocate and represent the Group at County Courts.
You will be required to travel to Group offices across Staffordshire and Shropshire, as and when required. There is no billing or charging time pressure.
Skills and experience required:
Qualified solicitor, Fellow of Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX) with demonstrable experience in Housing Litigation
Rights of audience (Civil) qualification
Knowledge of all areas of Housing legislation, the Pre-Action Protocol for Housing Conditions Claims, England
Experienced advocate in County Court.
Current and demonstrable experience of working in Housing management litigation including, civil litigation, Housing Law, anti-social behaviour, Injunctions, and possession proceeding.
Excellent legal drafting skills on all types of Court documentation / Witness statements / Appeals / instructions to Counsel
Able to organise and to prioritise between competing demands in relation to own workload and timescales.
Good report writing skills and presentation skills.
Good computer literacy.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and commercial awareness.
Excellent verbal, written and face to face communication skills.
