Summary
Your New role
National Highways have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Service Delivery Manager to join our Lighting and Electrical Maintenance team in the East Region.
Within this role you will be supporting the Service Manager (Lighting and Electrical) with the delivery of the cyclical routine maintenance, defect repairs, capital investment projects, inventory management and the issuing and management of works orders through Confirm and the resulting costs.
The team is responsible for the asset management of the street lighting and electrical assets within the region. This includes feeder pillars with the incoming public electricity supply, lighting columns, lanterns, illuminated signs, bollards and subways via a private cable network.
This role can be based in either Sandy or Waterbeach with the occasional requirement to travel between our offices, depots, stakeholders and site visits.
You will be required to drive as part of your role and you will need to have a full clean driving license to be considered for this position and during employment
What you’ll be leading on
Proactively track and monitor any lighting and electrical defects through Confirm and create works orders for cyclical and reactive works through Confirm.
Assist in the scope and preparation of survey requirements to support asset renewal schemes through MCI.
Maintain the cyclical and reactive maintenance work plans for East Regions Lighting and Electrical assets and ensure the delivery of planned works (including site visits/ supervision) are completed to a satisfactory standard, tracking.
Ensure cyclical and reactive maintenance workplans are well integrated in the region’s overall programme, ensuring customer disruption can be minimised.
Maintain the asset database via Confirm and update as-built drawings using AutoCAD, undertaking lighting designs using Lighting design software.
Working closely with our Highway route inspectors to ensure non-safety defects are captured and review and action site inspection reports.
To be Successful
Higher national diploma/certificate in engineering or other relevant qualification of a similar discipline
Knowledge of Design Manual for Road & Bridges (DMRB) standards and their application on the highways network.
Knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations, working practices and procedures.
Previous experience in a Highways environment and or street lighting and electrical knowledge
Experience in Excel/PowerBi
