An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant / TA in a Special needs school based in Cardiff.
The school is for children who have been diagnosed with PMLD. They are aged 4-11. The post requires caring and talented teaching assistants who are dedicated to supporting children with additional educational needs.
Essential Requirements:
It is an essential requirement of this post that the right Teaching Assistant / TA is trained in Manual Handling or has at least 6 months experience of Manual Handling, it is also desirable that the right Teaching Assistant has experience in Peg/Tube feeding due to the nature of the pupils they are supporting.
The role will start off being until the end of the academic year, with a look to potentially go permanent for the right teaching assistant / TA.
You will need to feel confident within an educational environment for these specific needs and be able to take direction from senior members of staff, whilst being able to build positive relationships with pupils due to their need for continuity and stability.
The role will include:
* Assisting key workers with activity preparation
* 1-1 work with children who require additional support
* Leading group work
* Helping the class teacher with pupil observations
