Summary


BANK Kitchen Porter - Band 2 An exciting opportunity to join our expanding team delivering a high-quality service to staff & visitors across the RFH site has become available. Candidates should be energetic, enthusiastic to learn new skills and expand on existing ones.

This job is a public facing role requiring respectful interaction with colleagues, other healthcare staff, support staff, delivery drivers, service engineers, visitors, and members of the public.

Cleaning duties

Washing up, cleaning, and clearing all kitchen areas

Putting away deliveries

Emptying bins, sweeping, and mopping floors

Ensuring all equipment is clean and put away correctly

Deep cleaning fridges and storerooms to maintain Hygienic and kitchen safety standards

Operating Dishwash machines & manual cleaning of Dishes , utensils & Equipment

Taking Instructions from Chefs & Senior management , being flexible and reliable.

Restaurant Food services at Royal Free Hospital is managed by Royal free property services a Wholly owned subsidiary of Royal free London NHS foundation Trust.

Our Close-Knit team consists of 25+ staff which include the chefs, Catering Assistants and the kitchen porters.

We prepare freshly cooked food using the finest ingredients and deliver a high level of service, serving more than 1000 meals every day in a busy fast paced environment.



Cleaning duties

· To carry out effectively and efficiently all general cleaning duties in accordance with the cleaning schedules and to complete documentation on paper or electronically as required by the department, Trust, or regulatory food safety records

· Operate a ‘clean as you go’ approach to cleaning the kitchen environment, with direction from the head chef, management.

· Provide an efficient pot wash and dish wash service operating electrical and manual equipment as trained and with due care and attention.

· The thorough cleaning of the main kitchen/satellite kitchens and food service equipment as scheduled using sanitising agents with detergents as directed in COSHH training, this includes all cooking equipment and storage refrigeration freezers and storeroom and larders.

· Clean equipment, dishes, floors, walls, fixtures, work surfaces, sinks, tables, and any other areas required to comply with department or regulatory cleaning requirements.

· To thoroughly clean all surfaces tabletops and legs, moving equipment for heavy cleaning, this will include cleaning of walls, shelves, paintwork, and floor areas of the main kitchen/satellite kitchens and all associated areas.

· To remove all waste and rubbish frequently from the main kitchen/satellite kitchens to the holding waste area, ensuring that bin liners are replaced.

· All bins/wash hand basins/sinks to be cleaned daily in line with the National Standards of cleanliness for an area with the very high-risk category.

Other duties

· To dispose all of waste safely and correctly in accordance with Trust waste
