Summary

Acorn by SYNERGIE are searching for a Shift Manager to join their client, a leading manufacturing business with a modern facility in Wigan, Greater Manchester.

Reporting directly to the Factory Manager and forming part of the site leadership team, the purpose of the role is to take accountability for the shift performance which includes output, safety, quality, cost and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include:

* Lead the daily shift team meetings and briefs. Conduct end of shift handover with incoming Shift Manager.

* Attend weekly planning meetings, work with planner to minimise change over frequency and optimise plans.

* Review shift plans, communicate to operators any planned changes, potential material, specification, quality and changeover issues.

* Responsible for development of all operators through continual coaching, mentoring and review in order to identify training and development need of individuals.

* Develop and support Team leaders to create a shift leadership team which is responsive, efficient and capable to take control in Shift Managers absence.

* Promote the management of safety, delivering no lost time accidents, reducing the number of minor accidents and reporting incidents through a safety culture.

* Accountable for all aspects of quality across the shift.

* Develop professional relationships with internal and external customers to drive delivery and customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate must have proven experience in a similar supervisory / leadership role of a production team in an FMCG environment. Knowledge and experience of managing process control and operational excellence.

Hours of work are 4 on 4 off 7am-7pm / 7pm - 7am

Salary is dependent on knowledge and experience to offer
