Summary


Resuscitation Officer

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our small & friendly team. This role is predominantly educational and the successful candidate will be delivering a range of resuscitation training to Clinical staff across the Trust and to external clients. Recent experience in acute care is required and previous experience as a Resuscitation Officer would be an advantage. The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse/ODP/Paramedic and possess a current Resuscitation Council (UK) Advanced Life Support Instructor Certificate.

This is a Band 6 post but we would welcome Band 5 applicants looking for a development opportunity.

As a developmental post you will be employed as a Band 5 and following an initial review we will agree your developmental needs. With support from the Team Leader you will be required to meet your competencies as you progress to a Band 6 over a timescale of 6 months.
• To provide resuscitation training and education within the guidelines of the Trust, the Resuscitation Council (UK) and the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation.
• To provide clinical and technical support and advice as an active member of the cardiac arrest team.

· To assist in the planning, organisation and implementation of resuscitation training and education both within the Trust and to external organisations, in accordance with the guidelines of the Trust, the Resuscitation Council (UK) and the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation.

· To work as a member of the cardiac arrest team providing specialist clinical advice, including specific advice on and interpretation of complex documentation and procedures on clinical and related professional issues. Inclusive of attance at cardiac arrests/emergency situations, involving adults and paediatrics.

· To participate in research and audit in relation to Resuscitation.
• To participate in trials and evaluations of resuscitation equipment across the Trust.
• Ability to direct ResuscitationCouncil (UK) and Advanced Life Support Group Courses.

· Assist with the ongoing development of the service.
