Summary


University College London Hospitals is seeking to appoint a part-time, locum Consultant in Neurology with an interest in post COVID syndrome and neurological complications of HIV infection with a commitment to high quality patient care.

Applications are invited for a fixed term (July 2024-March 2025) locum consultant appointment in Neurology. The post is offered on a 1.5-session basis and provides an opportunity to contribute to the multidisciplinary care of patients with post COVID syndrome, neurological infection and encephalitis.

The purpose of this role is to provide specialist neurological care to people with neurological symptoms and complications post COVID infection and with other neurological infections, in particular HIV infection. The post will include an alternate weekly outpatient clinic for the assessment, investigation, management and follow up of people with neurological complications of COVID and HIV infection. The post-holder will also co-chair the national encephalitis weekly MDT and attend the North Central London Post COVID MDT.

The post-holder will be expected to provide expertise in neurology including diagnosis, assessment, and management of neurological symptoms in people with post COVID symptoms and HIV infection. The post-holder will be part of a multidisciplinary team involved in infectious and autoimmune encephalitis. The post-holder will be expected to develop close links with all members of the team. The post-holder will deliver 1 clinic alternate weeks, attend the North Central London Post COVID MDT and co-chair the national encephalitis MDT alternate weeks.

The appointee will be expected to undertake clinical management duties and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and to demonstrate clinical leadership.
