Summary

Senior Systems Engineer (148dm) - Nr Leiston, East Suffolk - Up to £42000

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the Senior Systems Engineer will initially be the site engineer with this position being based in East Suffolk, but in time this will evolve into being part of a team consisting of System & Service Engineers.

DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EX MILITARY.

Key Responsibilities
•Work individually, then as part of a team covering all radio engineering activities
•Understand that at times the delivery of some engineering services are required out of hours, so there is the need to be flexible in
the working hours required to ensure efficient delivery
•Ensure that the overall performance of service delivery meets customer service level requirements & service performance targets
•Ensure all service tickets raised on the ticketing system are attended to and completed in a timely manner against their SLAs
•To deliver projects as requested. This includes the installation of vehicle radios and all Moves Additions and Changes (MAC) such as
delivery and training on radio equipment
•Ensure all requested project activity is documented as per requirements
•To complete preventative maintenance visits as requested. This is to include the programming and refurbishment of the clients
assets at customer sites to a satisfactory standard and customer requirement
•Maintaining customer satisfaction as per set targets and objectives
•Ensuring HR procedures are followed
•Ensure all functions within the service operate in compliance with all SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality) & legal
requirements and stipulations
•Ensure all timesheets are completed and submitted in a timely manner
•Ensure all expenses are completed and submitted in a timely manner
•Ensuring all service delivery documentation is updated in a timely manner and to the utmost quality
•Working with peers to ensure optimal delivery
•Be part of a constant learning and development culture in a fast-changing technical environment focusing on systems and
infrastructure
•Ensure all activities are completed in compliance with BMS (Business Management System)
•Ensure all service tickets raised on their ticketing system (Salesforce Service Cloud) are attended and completed in a timely manner
against SLA’s
•To complete systems and infrastructure preventative maintenance visits as requested
•Ensure company vehicles are kept to an appropriate level of cleanliness
•To complete all training as required, including onsite requirements to gain required access
•Uphold the company image at all times

Key Qualifications and Experience.
•Excellent solid technical background with strong theoretical and practical experience
•Experienced Radio and Infrastructure engineer, having sound knowledge of Unified Comms and/or Network and I.T. Strong industry knowledge
•Strong experience in working on DMR Tier 2 and Tier 3 radio systems, particularly infrastructure focussed, but excellent knowledge of end user devices with common main manufacturer equipment from: Motorola / Hytera / TAIT / Simoco / Sepura / Kenwood / PBE (Axell Wireless). This is mandatory for one supplier at least. Motorola products would be a clear advantage
•Experience in programming radio templates – Motorola / Hytera / TAIT / Simoco / Sepura / Kenwood. This is mandatory for one supplier at least. Motorola products would be a clear advantage
•In depth understanding of designing and commissioning PBE/Axell equipment used in a range of RF technologies including TETRA, DMR, Analogue, VHF and Cellular. Deployment of off-air repeaters and RF over fibre systems would be an advantage
•Preventative maintenance and fault activities on DAS systems such as PIM testing, distance to fault measurements and replacing/testing all types of RF cable and connectors e.g. Cellflex, Radiflex 7/16 and n-type connectors
•Experience in database management & networking topologies & DMR/PMR software applications would be an advantage
•Knowledge of GSM, fixed line comms and microwave solutions would be an advantage
•Knowledge of TCP/IP stack would be an advantage
•Cellular / Wi-Fi knowledge would be an advantage
•Excellent client facing skills with very strong verbal & written communication
•Able to work under own initiative and also within a team environment
•Clean driving license
•Experience of working under pressurized situations
•Available 5 year employment/gap history to enable gaining an HPC pass
•CSCS card (Green) an advantage
•SC Cleared would be advantageous
•Knowledge of Wi-Fi installation and maintenance would be advantageous
