-To work as an independent Practitioner under the supervision of the Senior Nurse Practitioner or Designated Medical Practitioner (DMP)

-To ensure all surgical patients receive an holistic service and are optimised prior to surgery within the remit of the preoperative service

-Within agreed protocols, Utilise the clerking protocol to take a full medical history of patients admitted within a specific specialty.

-Within agreed protocols order investigations including blood (as determined by physical examination), interpret results and act appropriately on the findings.

-Venesection and cannulation of patients as required within unit / procedure guidelines.
